Interested in having a greener lawn? Is your lawn full of weeds? Interested in trying centipede or
zoysia grass? These will be some of the questions addressed during a turf management program
with a focus on residential laws in Polk County. Topics will include weed ID and management,
proper fertilization, insect pest ID and management, and general management suggestions for a
healthier greener lawn. The program will also include hands-on work for insects and weed ID in the
field. The program will also look at plots of 5 different common turf species (Bermuda, St.
Augustine, Centipede, Zoysia grass, and Carpet grass) to help participants determine species
selection for your lawn. Cost is $20 and lunch will be provided. The program will start at 10:00 and
